Pony Poop Poser
Before I start I think I better state that I am not a dog or a horse owner and have no axe to grind with dog or horse owners, (apart from barking dogs, if you are going to keep a dog at least have the decency to keep it properly and don't annoy everyone within a half mile radius).
The majority of dog owners are conscientious but are chased and prosecuted due to dog crap on the pavement, they have become vilified by the general public and now have a legal (and more importantly moral) obligation to clean up after their animals so how come a horse can crap wherever it wants without any consequences at all?
I ask because being a two wheel vehicle user I find this stuff on the roads all the time, usually it is reasonably easy to spot but the other night I was going round a corner (leant over as two wheel vehicles do round corners) when I ran over a pile of this stuff right on the corner. As I'm sure you can imagine I was VERY lucky not to go down.
So how come dog owners have to clear up poop but horse owners can let their animals deposit real and very dangerous hazards onto any road at any time? Is there a law I don't know about? No I'm asking
I always take great care to go past horses slowly and quietly so as not to spook them (common courtesy you see) but if the buggers are going to have me sliding down the road because of indiscriminate crapping then next time I am going to give them something to crap themselves about! ;D
Riders think of other road users, put a spare saddlebag on the horse and shovel the d**n stuff up.
Fact: Banana skins are better for roses.
(and don't get me started on cats)
